REVIEW

I have traveled to Isla Mujeres on boat excursions while staying in Cancun, but this was the first time I stayed on a resort on the island. I was extremely excited to do so because of that fact, but also because I had heard such incredible things about Zoëtry Resorts. From the minute we got there, I felt a different type of luxury and aura surrounding us as we checked-in. You could tell from the get-go it was going to be a place of full relaxation and bliss.

We sat down as we were waiting for our room to be prepared. As we looked over the menu, we realized they had many dairy-free and gluten-free options. This made us feel more comfortable with choosing different options on the menu knowing they had taken these food allergies seriously. I will tell you – the food was absolutely incredible! Every meal I had there did not disappoint. There were so many options for you to choose from, we ended up eating 5-6 times a day just so we could try everything. And the beautiful part about the resort was that the food at the restaurant was the same menu available poolside and through room-service. So, no matter where we were, we were able to enjoy the amazing food! That was definitely one of the greatest perks at the resort. The environment was very tranquil and peaceful – nothing but the wind and the sound of the smallest waves crashing ashore. If you desire a quiet, peaceful and relaxing getaway with good food & top-shelf drinks, and a world-famous spa, this is definitely on the list.

However, as I mentioned earlier, the resort itself is a lot smaller than normal resorts. Holding only 35 rooms, we did not run into too many people throughout the resort. Some people would like the quaintness-feeling, while others would prefer a larger resort with more people, restaurants, activities. In addition, there was not a whole lot to do on the resort, as it was a smaller resort. Our days were spent hanging at the pool, the beach, and eating food haha. Now, sometimes, that is my type of vacation. While other times, I love to explore, go on adventures, and have some activities to do on the resort. I would definitely recommend renting a golf cart and checking out the island and its bars and restaurants in their “downtown” area. We were only there for 2 nights, so we didn’t have the opportunity to explore the island. But that is definitely something I would do if I went back!
